Movie Jabber’s Comixplosion 2019

Shared cinematic universes, superhero TV shows, superhero merchandise, conventions, Marvel vs DC debates… where did it all start? We’ll tell you, comic books!

Starting this year, and every year henceforth, Movie Jabber’s Comixplosion will be a comic book centric mini-convention that dives deeper into the wonderful world of comic books. Whether you grew up loving comic books, or are venturing into this medium for the first time, this event is for you.

Comixplosion’s main goal is to see the explosive growth of the local comic book industry, and at the convention, you’ll get to meet and interact with some of the best content creator’s in the country as well as buy their latest issues as you mingle with fellow fans.

• Date: Saturday April 6th.
• Venue: Michael Joseph Center, Waiyaki Way.
• Time: 11am – 7pm.
• Ticket Price: 400Kshs | No tickets sold at the gate
• Limited Capacity, only 120 available tickets.

• Comic Books: A wide collection of international and local brand spanking new comic books to slap yourself silly with.
• 2019 Sizzle Reel: a look at local and international comic book related entertainment content releasing this year.
• Movie Jabber’s “Make it Epic” 2019 theme presentation.
• “Haro” comic book reveal.
• “Vibonzo Anthology” launch.
• Comixplosion Cosplay Tournament
• Panel Sessions with key local comic book creators.
• Exhibitors: Limited space available.
• Comic Book themed Fan Trivia.
• Prizes: merch and tickets (advance screenings) to the upcoming superhero movies in the month of April: Shazam! and Avengers: Endgame.

Comixplosion Cosplay Tournament

There will be one main competition, and you are allowed to register your cosplay character as long as it falls strictly within any of the two below categories:

• Category #1: come dressed in the costume of your favorite all time comic book character from any of the major mainstream publishing houses: DC, Marvel, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics etc

• Category #2: come dressed in the costume of a local comic book character. We will provide the selection for you to choose from soon.

Important: You cannot register to compete with anime/manga cosplay or non-comic book related cosplay. Remember, this is a more focused comic book themed event.
