Otamatsuri 2019: Africa’s first Anime & Manga Convention

Since 2015, the Anime Cafe has been a platform for Anime lovers, cosplayers and otakus. Over the years, we have seen our community expand as the interest in Japanese Anime and Otaku culture grows. To take things to the next level, Anime Cafe Kenya would like to present to you Kenya’s and Africa’s first Anime Convention; OtaMatsuri.
OtaMatsuri is a combination of two words;
- “Otaku“- a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, particularly in anime and manga.
- “Matsuri“- a Japanese word for festival.
This is a single day event set for later on this year on Saturday August 10th. The convention will run from 11:00am to 6:00pm.
OtaMatsuri will feature a wide array of activities that will keep you engaged throughout the event. These activities will include but are not limited to:
- Anime/Manga Cosplay Tournament
- Manga Lounge
- Anime Arcade
- Cinema Japan!
- Cosplay Dance Performance
- Exhibition Hall
- And more…
