# Amazing Spiderman Australian Trailer

If you didn’t know by now, three superhero movies will be slugging it out pretty soon at the Box Office. They are The Avengers, Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises.  So far, The Avengers has had a pretty impressive and record setting headstart ($ 1.3 Billion as of today!), The Dark Knight was also a record setting flick when it came out and it’s sequel, The Dark Knight Rises has already revved up its marketing wheels with pretty cool banners, posters and well packaged TV Spots.  Word on the street is, the summer blockbuster showdown will be between The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises…

Which brings me to that other superhero flick that some may be taking for granted: The Amazing Spiderman.  Fine, Sony deciding to wave goodbye to Tobey Maguire and co and hastily reboot the entire franchise was pretty shocking and gutsy considering how much the third installment (and last featuring Tobey Maguire as Spiderman) made worldwide, but with the recent marketing material that has been flooding us lately, i would say it doesn’t look like it was a bad idea after all.  Marc Webb’s spin on the cocky-mouthed wall-crawler seems to address certain issues (like the death of Peter’s parents) that Sam Raimi didn’t, and at the same time deliver us the dark wit, and gritty realistic world of Peter Parker that once again, wasn’t brought out pretty well by his predecessor Sam Raimi.  In short, this ‘restart’ of the Big Screen Spiderman mythos looks pretty promising and i for one will be heading to the theaters for this one.

Here’s the latest trailer offering, released in Australia with some new shots and seems to package all the elements of the movie: mystery, action, romance, thrill and terror into one neat bundle.

This by far, is the best trailer, followed by the third international trailer released earlier on.  If that doesn’t buy you over, i don’t know what will?  Wait, maybe The Dark Knight Rises? 😉 Spidey is set to swing into theaters worldwide on the 3rd of July, 2012 and should be in Kenyan theaters around that time, too. You better budget for it!

#Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

In its quest to permanently find a niche in our wallets and handbags 😉 Hollywood has been playing around with different genres onscreen.  Some fail, others succeed, others should just be left well alone…

How about taking historical elements and one historical figure and pairing them up with absolute fiction?  Ladies and gentlemen, behold, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.  The title says it all; Abraham Lincoln’s untold history, prior to his great achievements (or side by side to them) Honest Abe was a pretty ruthless axe wielding vampire hunter, that’s what they would have us believe.  Tim Burton takes the mantle of producer of this flick and the director behind the action movie Wanted is at the helm of this one…

The trailers so far have offered alot in terms of fancy effects from the usual slow-motion close-ups to CGI shots and yes, at times you get the feeling that the story may not be as cool as the effects 🙂 BUT this latest trailer does a bit more to convince me that this new spin or ‘mesh-up’ may be interesting enough if not groundbreaking.  Have a look and decide:

I would say you never know, it just may become a sleeper/surprise/cult hit, you never know…
