Free Comic Book Day Kenya, 2019 is Here!

“Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is the biggest event in the comic book industry—a single day when participating comic book specialty shops around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops! Founded on the belief that for every person out there, there’s a comic book they’ll love, the annual event offers a huge selection of free titles designed to appeal to a broad range of age levels and their tastes.” Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day Kenya Details

• Date: Saturday September 7th
• Time: 9AM onward (while stocks last)
• Venue: Between the Lines Bookshop 1st Floor at Village Market

Every year, the event happens simultaneously everywhere around the world on the first Saturday in May, but due to the risk of delayed shipments of those issues, Between the Lines Bookshop (Kenya’s biggest and comic book store!), hosts it on the first Saturday of September, annually.

Here’s a look at the some of the activities added on to this year’s #FCBDKE to make it fun!

● Free comics giveaway from 9am at Between The Lines (while stocks last)
● Point Blank selling quick sketches of attendees. Throughout the day
● Kid’s pizza making session sponsored by Brown’s from 12-2pm
● Mini Amazing Race around Village Market from 10.30am to 12pm
● Kids coloring session with Salim of Avandu.
● Dance Dance Revolution battle all day
● Discount coupons for all recreation area activities including Village Bowl, Ozone Trampoline Park, VR, and Under The Sea Kid’s area
● Trivia session
● Video games with Gamechanger
● Nairobi Otaku merch on sale
● Board and card games including Deadpool Monopoly throughout the day
