CosComKE 2018 on October 20th Saturday, Tickets now on Sale!
Movie Jabber’s Cosplay Community Kenya (CosComKE) is an initiative with the goal of nurturing and building the cosplay community and industry here in Kenya.
Under the CosComKE banner, new and regular cosplayers can meet, share their skills, exchange tricks of the trade, showcase their outfits as well as inspire and motivate each other. If you don’t cosplay and are just a fan of the scene and love being part of such an environment, you are completely welcome too! This year’s edition #CosComKE2018 is no different!

Date: Saturday October 20th
Time: 11am – 5pm
Venue: The Metta Nairobi 6th Floor, 14 Riverside Drive.
Public Transport: Board a 48 matatu from Odeon in town; Kileleshwa, Yaya or Lavington.
Stage to alight at is known as “Bridge”.
(Near UoN Chiromo Campus, and within the same compound as dusitD2 Nairobi)

11.00am – 11.30am // Doors Open
Arrival and seating of ticket holders.

11.30am – 11.45am // CosComKE 2018 Kick Off
Rundown of event schedule, guidelines for the day, and any special updates/announcements by MCs.

11.45am – 12.15noon // Official Photo Session
Official photo session for those in cosplay outfits on a first come first served basis.
~
12.20noon – 12.35noon // Exclusive Musical Performance
Introducing a special musical performance by the talented Ennaira
~
12.45noon – 1.30pm // Panel Session
An engaging session with this year’s panelists who will share their
cosplay experiences and knowledge, as well as address questions from the audience
on all things cosplay.

1.30pm – 2.00pm // CosConnect
Live-stream cosplay-connect session with an international cosplay guest.
This year’s guest is Ebony Warrior Studios who will share his experiences, reveal some of his best cosplays
as well as address questions from the audience.

2.00pm – 2.45pm // Anime Session
An anime themed surprise for those in attendance.
~
2.45pm – 3.30pm // Mingle & Break
A chance for event attendees to take a break, eat, mingle, take photos, discuss cosplay,
exchange tips and make new friends!

3.30pm – 3.45pm // Exclusive Musical Performance
Introducing a special musical performance by the talented Ennaira
~
3.45pm – 4.00pm // MJX December Preview
Sneak peek at December’s MJX (Movie Jabber Expo), cosplay competitions
and their guidelines, plus prize money.

4.00pm – 5.00pm // Cosplay Showcase
Cosplayers (those who pre-register to do so) will get the chance to strut their stuff,
walk on the stage and showcase their outfits plus briefly talk about their creation process.
Strictly for those who pre-register. More on that below after Event Ticket Bundles category.

“Ticket Only” at 350/= per person. This only gets you a ticket to the event.
“Ticket & Badge Bundle” at 400/= per person. This gets you a ticket plus one badge. Please [Click Here] once you have paid for this bundle, to view and select the badge design of your choice.
“Ticket + Badge + Food Bundle” at 700/= per person. This gets you a ticket, plus one badge, plus one serving of food. The food in this bundle is a serving of 3 Chicken Sliders (mini burgers). ____________ COSPLAY SHOWCASE _____________
The main event category will give Cosplayers a chance to show off their outfits on the main stage. Click here for a visual example from last year’s CosComKE Workshop. A few important things:
- If you don’t want to showcase, and just want to cosplay for fun, you are completely welcome to do so. Just do NOT fill the form and do not expect to be allowed on stage during the showcase segment.
- If you want to be part of the showcase, please buy an event ticket first, then Pre-Register Here. Only pre-registered event ticket holders will be allowed to showcase. Deadline is Sunday October 14th.
- Cosplay Showcase segment is not a competition and there are no prizes up for grabs. It’s an important opportunity for cosplayers to express themselves, practice for future tournaments, learn a few lessons and most importantly wow the crowd and have fun!
- We will need a hi-res image of the exact character you will be cosplaying as, plus a link to the track you would like played when you walk on stage (think of how it’s done in wrestling 😉 ) These details are required correctly in the pre-registration form; Pre-Register Here. Failure to submit details as required will result in you not having the desired grand entrance or impact, and as event organizers we will use a track and image of our choice.
