ROBOCOP | New Images and First Trailer

Published

on

Incase you missed it, Robocop has been under the blade being tooled and retooled for this new generation 😉 Initially slated for a 2013 release, the film got bumped to 2014. Most likely a marketing reason, and from the looks of things not a bad one (yet). Incase you’ve been under a rock, 2013 had its owners (Iron Man 3, Man of Steel…)

2014 isn’t that busy a year in terms of high budget releases as compared to this year.  All eyes are on 2015 for another high profile ‘assault’ on our wallets 😉 Getting back to our main story, here is the first trailer:

Well?  The concept of man vs machine in the SAME body seems to be this trailer’s main selling point, still an intriguing concept considering that the previous Robocop films never reqlly explored that aspect of the character. Here’s the official synopsis:

Plot: “In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine, pursuing justice.” via Screenrant
