Anticipated Summer Blockbusters 2013: Their Kenyan Release Dates
By now you must be quite aware f how awesome 2013 will soon be, cinema-wise that is 😉 What with expected big releases such as Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Fast and the Furious 6, Pacific Rim, The Wolverine and Star Trek: Into Darkness causing all manner of shakes up and down the spines of the eagerly awaiting fans. What makes it even more juicier is the fact that list above is just the tip of the iceberg…
Getting straight into it, we know these films are coming out this year, BUT the question is, do you know when they are gracing our screens here in Kenya…? With that may we introduce our next newbie package, what has been dubbed as Summer Blockbuster Experience, Kenya.
Summer Blockbuster Experience Kenya | 2013
Brief: Summer is roughly that period that falls between April/May – July/August in most parts of the world, specifically USA where our beloved Hollywood calls home. This time of the year can be summed up into two words; holiday + fun. It therefore makes marketing sense for high budget and high profile films to be released during this time period, taking advantage of the free time and holiday and spending mood 😉 It’s no wonder that this year is no different.
Ultimately, such a time period greatly impacts movie lovers all around the globe! So as much as we may not have the summer season here in Kenya, we will be gleefully assaulted by these releases one after the other with little to no space in between them!
The purpose of this package is to simply act as an umbrella, linking all the upcoming big releases between the months of April – August and their release dates according to the Kenyan Cinematic calendar. Most of these films won’t have a same-day world-wide premiere, so they will hit Kenya some days to weeks after their international releases. Hence our ‘summer’ calendar spilling over into August with the likes of World War Z, Smurfs 2 and Turbo. So, shall we begin…
