Fast & Furious 6

Come on, face it, the name alone spells out guilty pleasure and thrills 😉 Fine, given that certain installments somewhere in the middle left a bad taste in the mouths of franchise fans, the franchise redeemed itself in its previous and fifth installment, Fast 5.  And yes, i’ll be bold enough to say it, we are looking forward to this one. Why? We’ll let the trailer speak for itself, albeit loudly…

Plot:

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe.  But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez).  The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London.  Payment?  Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.Collider

Explosions, cars, eye candy, Vin Diesel and The Rock, breathtaking sceneray and locations, stunts, some intrigue thrown in… did we mention Vin Diesel and The Rock?  That is a compelling mix on its own. Although it’s worth the mention that plot of the franchise has steered towards a more heist-like oriented nature, and with the early look of this upcoming installment, throwing in certain aspects of the military makes things more exciting…

Release date: May 24th, 2013

Byzantium

This film deserves a special mention. Not just because it looks set to repesent vampires how they truly are and NOT as some ‘sparkle-in-daylight-and-date-high-schoolers’ undead beings 😉 No, no one said Twilight yet… 😉

This looks set to be a promising intriguing ride tugging at your emotions and mental perception of reality.  Which, is welcome when you consider what is being churned out by Hollywood nowadays.  Would you watch this on Big Screen?

Mud

Matthew McConaughey, according to some, made some not-so-good decisions at some point in his career, and as such my never really be able to headline a major production. We say, a pinch of that may be so, but he seems to slowly getting noticeable if you consider his gripping performances in Killer Joe and this upcoming Mud

Plot:Mud is a crime drama set (once again) in Nichols’ native Arkansas – this time on the banks of on an unspecified, oft-flooded river. Two local kids (Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland) discover a treed boat after one such flood – only to also discover its seemingly-homeless inhabitant, the titular Mud (McConaughey). As it turns out, Mud is a fugitive on the run from both the law and a local crime family for murdering a man who threatened his girlfriend, Juniper (Reese Witherspoon). As Mud attempts to get his boat working again in order to make his getaway, the boys have to decide whether to shelter him or give him over to the authorities.” Screenrant
