‘The Hunger Games’ Review

It’s been a while but now and then we do get a user submitting a review of either a series or movie.  The first review in some time as mentioned before comes courtesy of one Jerome David.  He reviews one certain flick that seems to have pretty much mae him happy if the tweets and Facebook posts are anything to go by.

The Hunger Games

I have to begin by saying that the movie was rather ‘an increased version of a developed world’, in simple terms; it reflected a nicer future yet full of weirdness. From the setting of the movie to the locations, I’d give credit to that… the way The Capitol was brought out showed a clear image of how interesting their world was and yet again the usual thing still happens, the rich and the poor live a totally different life… like Peeta saying he usually doesn’t take a shower and thinks he smells good.

The characters were good especially Katniss (Jennifer) who brought out her character well, even though I have not read the book, I must admit I felt the author’s mission. Bringing in new gamers in action, I mean actors (except Liam Hemsworth who plays Gale), was absolutely wonderful.  Just like what the casting directors of ‘Twilight’ did. Every cast member made an incredible effort to that movie.

In my own opinion, Peeta (Josh) was “under rated” … I expected a much better ‘sidekick’ who would be by the hero’s side all the time (Katniss) but again, it was as brought out by the author I believe. Also, I enjoy the costume concept that made me visualized a colorful future but the makeup thingy was just too weird.

Gary Ross was also incredible on the camera especially the fighting scenes. What really caught my eye was the technology this people were using… if am not surprised then I was impressed. For me the movie was a 4.4/5 because it started on a slow note but later picked up and I was finally glued. Some gaps were not fully filled (like the earlier encounter between Katniss and Peeta) and I believe they will once “Catching Fire” and “Mocking Jay” are released. Otherwise, that’s how Hunger Games was to me.
