Otamatsuri 2022: Maid Cafe Guidelines & Registration

The Anime Café Kenya’s Otamatsuri Maid Café is looking to cast a maximum of 6 maid volunteers.

Event Category Description

Inspired by the Maid Cafes of Akihabara in Tokyo, the Maid Café features courteous maids who will entertain and engage with attendees. Enjoy drinks, games and music hosted by our Kawaii (jpn: Cute) Maids only at the Otamatsuri Maid Café.

Please note that the Maid Cafe is not an actual cafe. While food/drink is available for separate purchase, the maids will not serve food or drink to attendees.

They are not waitresses.

Role Description

Maids will be operating within the lounge area. Their roles include but are not limited to:

• Being Game masters: Responsible for conducting and overseeing the board games within the lounge area.
• Being Trivia Masters: Responsible for developing the questions and running the trivia sessions.
• Karaoke section: Responsible for overseeing and managing the song selection in the Karaoke area.
• Photo ops: Being available to take photos and selfies with attendees within the lounge area.

Maids WILL NOT be responsible for taking food orders or serving food to the attendees.
Applicants will be required to undergo an audition before final selection is made. Final selection of the applicants is at The Anime Café’s discretion.

Registration Terms & Conditions

• Must live in Nairobi or be within a reasonable traveling distance (Maximum 1hr).
• Must be over 18 with a valid National ID.
• Must be in good health capable of being on your feet for extended durations of time.
• Must have a regularly used email address, and phone number.
• Must be comfortable conversing with strangers.
• Must be comfortable having their pictures taken.
• Singing & dancing experience isn’t necessary, but is a definite plus!

Maid Outfit Details

• A security deposit of 1,500 KES will be required to secure the maid costume.
• Volunteers must avail themselves for costume measurements and fitting. The dates will be communicated to the volunteers via email or mobile communication.
• Volunteers will bring additional accessories to go with the Maid costumes i.e. shoes, jewelry, wigs etc.
• Volunteers will be solely responsible for the care & maintenance of the costume remanded into their care
