Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The initial installment and adaptation was a financial success at the Box Office. For those who had never heard of nor read the novels, it was an ‘ok’ flick 😉 Nevertheless, the $$$ returns were enough to prompt Hollywood to work on a sequel; Hunger Games: Catching Fire… Behold, it’s new poster:
In a nutshell, the sequel picks up from where the first left off (obviously 😉 ) but this time round, our heroes Peeta and Katniss, have now to deal with indirect consequences of their ‘rebellion’ in the first installment in the form of the people now fanning the flames of rebellion and appointing Katniss as their reluctant leader…
Hunger Games: Catching Fire will hopefully set the Box Office alight later this year in November

I, Frankenstein
Aaron Eckhart in a horror-fantasy flick? In other words, solid actor with good acting chops in a monster themed cinema flair? We are hooked! That film in mention is titled I, Frankenstein which unfortunately premiers next year, after being pushed back more than once. Here’s what the actor had to say regarding the film’s general synopsis
“It’s a movie about good and evil, about gargoyles and demons, and it’s about a monster trying to find his soul; his place in this world. And he happens to be an expert at the Filipino art of Kali stick fighting at the same time. Which [for those who are unfamiliar] is done with two and a half foot ratan sticks, or any stick you pick up off the street, and it’s being able to dispatch soulless people with these sticks.” Aaron Eckhart
Thanks to Screenrant, we have an unofficial rundown of the film’s plot:
“The film is based on Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel of the same name, in which the immortal creature that was pieced together by Victor Frankenstein has taken on his maker’s name and is working as a modern private investigator called Franklin Stein. The story takes place in the prophetically-named city of Darkhaven, which is populated by a secret ecosystem of ghouls and monsters that prey on the largely unsuspecting human population.” Screenrant
Below is what the actual comic book character looks like…
And here is what the film adaptation starring Aaron Eckhart, via its first official poster, looks like. All dark and brooding…
If we may draw up a conclusion from the following facts: The producers of Underworld are attached to this, Frankenstein knows some form of martial arts and is really good, he fights monsters and what not, Aaron Eckhart was in The Dark Knight which was no campy fair by the way… With all that mind, we reckon this film will be the surprise offspring of an Underworld + Hellboy + Blade + Van Helsing + The Dark Knight questionable and near impossible union! But hey, we are still waiting for it 😉
