EAST AFRICA BOX OFFICE | The Avengers vs Mad Max: Fury Road vs Pitch Perfect vs Child 44
PAST WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RANKINGS:
The Avengers: Age of Ultron still stood strong at #1 for the second weekend, not only in Kenya, but East Africa cinemas as a whole. The ‘similar to Taken franchise’ film The Gunman helmed by Sean Penn debut at #2. Not strong enough to peak at the top spot, but strong enough to push Furious 7 to #3.
Family fun animated release Home from 20th Century Fox moves up to #4 after being #6 the previous week. Proof that despite the top spots going to action centric releases, there are still pockets out there looking for some good-hearted humours family viewing.

NEW RELEASES THIS WEEKEND:
Will this coming weekend belong to the mad? It will, if Mad Max: Fury Road fans turn out in numbers as the large-scale blockbuster opens worldwide this Friday May 15.
Child 44 is a release worth mentioning if not for the fact that it’s Tom hardy’s second star vehicle releasing this coming weekend. The first is ofcourse the afore mentioned Mad Max: Fury Road.
Pitch Perfect was a surprise hit, a pleasantly surprising hit when it released in 2012. Some fan love in the form of $$ was enough to bring the cast together again to rehearse for its sequel Pitch Perfect 2 that opens May 15.
Whether or not that sequel hits the right notes this coming weekend will totally be dependent on you 😉 So go on, go to the movies and have fun!
