Superman Film MAN OF STEEL New Images

Published

There will be no Kryptonite in the upcoming Superman film, titled Man of Steel. Directed by visual guru Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch) and overseen by Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Prestige, Batman Trilogy), pre-screening early buzz hints at a visually spectacular film smoothly intertwined with an engaging story and enough action to please, and even blow away super-hero enthusiasts. No surprise there, the Nolan+Snyder combo was enough of a sign 😉

EW‘s June featured cover photo has Henry Cavill in his new Superman look, in one supremely iconic pose:

Apart from the above eye-catchy cover, several pics (find them below) and certain interesting storyline elements were made public. Before we get on to the pics, here is a general round-up of the ‘interesting’ story line elements:

  • Absolutely NO KRYPTONITE in the film: Yes, the glowing radiated green rocks from Superman’s home planet that proved to be his only weakness (apart from Lana Lang, Smallville anyone…?) so far in most televised/cinematic adaptations will be absent.
  • Superman’s powers may be common to him alone and not just all Kryptonians as was/is the original case. For those not in the know, originally, Superman and all Kryptonians got their power from our yellow sun. On their home world they are as normal as you and i. Until they get to earth…
  • Based on footage seen by the source of this news story, EW, the film is full of ‘train-smashing’ action and so much more…

Marketing wise Snyder and co have given us very little in terms of footage and leaks for this highly anticipated yet risky re-modernizing of Superman, so the following pics, highlight being Superman in flight and a enraged looking Zod, come as a welcome surprise:
