34 years is a log time to be in service! Especially at the same job 😉 Forrest Whitaker plays out onscreen his version of Cecil Gaines, a butler who served at the White House from 1952 to 1986 (yes, that’s the 34 years mentioned) in the film titled The Butler. Directed by the same pair of hands and vision that brought us Precious, a man by the name of Lee Daniels, first look at the film has some quarters whispering; “Oscar contender…” Well,  the trailer below boasts a slew of famous faces, names, places, things, clothes… you get the point. Here’s your first look:

Official Synopsis:THE BUTLER, based on the screenplay by Danny Strong & Lee Daniels, is inspired by Wil Haygood’s Washington Post article about an African-American man who served as a butler (Whitaker) to eight Presidents in the White House for over thirty years. From this unique vantage point, THE BUTLER traces the dramatic changes that swept American society, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and how those changes affected this man’s life and family.Collider

GRAVITY

Gravity - Clooney

Perhaps the main piece of info that caught our attention regarding this film, is the news that the first 17 minutes will feature impressive and unbroken scenes that will blow you away… visually.  Sci-fi may not appeal to many, BUT who never gets wowed by good visuals? Here’s the teaser below:

Official Synopis:Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space. Collider
