Jurassic World reigned supreme not just internationally, but locally too. Clinching the #1 spot for two straight weekends in a row, besting recent new offerings such as Spy, Hot Pursuit and Entourage. With only -38% drop in ticket sales, Jurassic World remains the fan favourite for cinema goers in East Africa and Kenya as a whole.
Globally, Jurassic World is the first film ever in Hollywood’s history to cross the $500 million mark in its opening weekend with precisely $524.4 million generated. The film is also the first to cross the $ 1 billion mark in just 13 days… 13 days! Record wise, The Avengers (2012) and The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) were the bench mark in terms of openings, but looks like Chris Pratt’s mammoth release tamed them. The park will definitely stay open for business 😉
