BATMAN v SUPERMAN | New Images and Details

In the midst of all the Star Wars related buzz online, it’s quite timely and pre-planned that Warner Bros. have released exciting images and info on what may quite well be next year’s biggest movie; Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Total Film is the source of all that juicy content given that Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman will be featured on the cover, ready to fight for justice and hopefully deliver on the $$ returns too 😉

One of the best piece of information was the description of the opening sequence by Superman himself, Henry Cavill:

What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t. So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?

The above scene if you remember Man of Steel quite well is the scene where Superman and Zod go at it in a building, Zod’s Heat Rays appear for the first time and tear the whole place down! Turns out that that same building belonged to Mr. Batman himself aka Bruce Wayne played by Ben Affleck.  Ben Affleck further adds that that entire incidence makes an already angry Bruce Wayne, enraged…

He’s found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.

Anger management. The only way Batman knows how…

Other than describing the mental and emotional state of his caped crusader persona, Ben Affleck also talked about directing a solo Batman movie and what he figures would be the necessary key ingredient to make that notion possible.  Sentiments that were echoed by Charles Roven (producer of Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy films and Man of Steel)

If I could make it work, yeah. Obviously that would be like a dream. The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you – if you’re going to direct it – that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it… Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.

Charles Roven:

He’s about to start a movie now, and he’s also got obligations to be in the Justice League movies. The calendar is a little bit tricky. Of course, the script obviously has to be worthy of him wanting to direct it. And once that happens, it’s still got to fit into the calendar. We’re hoping we can make it happen. We’re just at the beginning of the question.

Directory Zack Snyder wasn’t to be left behind as he shed more light on the shared universe that will be introduced in next year’s release. Did we also mention he said a new trailer may be out soon? 😉

Listen. I want to — we’re working toward Justice League, and I really want to create the — part of the thing I really want to create is the possibility of a world where they could exist together…I think up to this point, it’s been difficult to suggest a world where Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman and others could exist in the same universe. That was one of the things I really wanted to try and get at. Not to mention, the amazing opportunity to bring those characters and have those characters tell an important story, their own story, within the confines of a film.

And in regards to the Batmobile, Snyder was very excited in his description…

It’s got this crazy gun [on the front part of the vehicle]. It’s super-fast. It’s electrified. It can do all the other Bat-car stuff. But the cool thing I liked about it is that it’s a purpose built Batmobile, right? Which is kind of fun to get back to that.
