Ahhuuu!

Ahhuuu!

There seems to be a couple of films that are under the radar. Whether it’s based on strategy or uncertainties regarding the productions remains to be seen. One such production is 300: Rise of an Empire, the sort of sequel (yet prequel) to Zack Snyder’s 300

Plot Summary: “Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes” and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.Comingsoon

So whether or not we do need this installment is up to you for debate but unfortunately not your decision at the moment 😉 That is until it hits cinemas and your pockets show their appreciation or lack of it.
Looking at it from a reviewer’s point of view, 300 was the epitome of what men who are boys at heart would love to see in an action/adventure film. Yes, even the ladies were catered to 😉 but let’s not forget that between 300 and now, we have seen other testosterone fueled and geared productions take up that mantle, and totally own it The Expendables anyone?
Will 300 in any manner or form, still find relevance and recognition? Your bet is as good as mine 🙂
